2024 Summer Performances

We are looking ahead to a highly anticipated musical summer. Following a joint rehearsal period in Berlin, the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra will perform with Anne-Sophie Mutter under the direction of Maestro Daniel Barenboim at a total of six venues. For the first time, these include the Musikfest Bremen with a concert on August 7, followed by performances at the Waldbühne in Berlin, the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, the Rheingau Musik Festival in Wiesbaden, and the Salzburg and Lucerne festivals.

The program will pair Johannes Brahms' Violin Concerto in D major op. 77 with either Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 8 in C major D 944 "The Great" or with Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 in A major op 92.
