Divan Orchestra announces 2016 summer tour

The West-Eastern Divan Orchestra returns to the concert stage in 2016 for their annual summer workshop and tour.   The ensemble, founded 17 years ago as an experiment in coexistence by Daniel Barenboim and Edward Said, reunites at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, where their residency includes symphonic concerts, chamber performances and a duo recital featuring Barenboim and the legendary pianist Martha Argerich. The festival takes places July 24 to August 6.   In August, the Divan set outs on European tour, making appearances at the Salzburg Festival (August 10 & 11), Lucerne Festival (August 14 & 15), and Waldbühne Berlin (August 13).
