Divan Orchestra featured in inaugural season of Pierre Boulez Saal
In April 2017, the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra and co-founder Daniel Barenboim perform at the Pierre Boulez Saal as part of the new Berlin concert hall's inaugural season. On April 23 & 30, Barenboim conducts the orchestra in Mozart's Symphony in E-Flat Major, K.543; Symphony in g minor, K.550 and Symphony in C Major, K.551, "Jupiter." The Pierre Boulez Saal, a chamber music hall designed by architect Frank Gehry, will open in March 2017 in Berlin as the public face of the Barenboim-Said Akademie. The hall will enrich the cultural life of the city, presenting “music for the thinking ear.”
