Edward W. Said Reading Session: “Bases for Coexistence”

During rehearsal periods, the musicians of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra regularly come together beyond the music to engage in workshops and conversations. During the 2025 summer tour rehearsals in Berlin, they revisited Edward W. Said’s essay "Bases for Coexistence", a text written by the orchestra’s co-founder in 1997. The session was led by Prof. Roni Mann from the Barenboim-Said Akademie and Spanish diplomat Bernardino León, with the participation of Maestro Daniel Barenboim.
