West-Eastern Divan Ensemble: 2025 South American Tour
The West-Eastern Divan Ensemble, led by violinist Michael Barenboim, returns to the stage with a South American tour featuring a program of German Romantic chamber music. Over six performances in Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay, the Ensemble will perform two alternating programs: one featuring Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 11 in F minor, Op. 95, alongside Schubert’s Octet in F major, D. 803; the other pairing Schubert’s String Quartet No. 13 in A minor, D. 804, "Rosamunde," with Beethoven’s Septet in E-flat major, Op. 20.

Following the South American tour, the ensemble will return to Berlin for a performance at the Pierre Boulez Saal as part of the Boulez 100 series, marking the centenary of the French composer. This program will feature Pierre Boulez’s Livre pour quatuor, a work left unfinished at the composer’s death and completed in 2018 by Philippe Manoury. The evening will also include Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet and Schubert’s String Quintet.
